PLAY Day is the Oscar Peterson School of Music's annual event that celebrates our students' accomplishments with free performances in renowned Koerner Hall as well as fun activities throughout the building! Thousands of people participate every year and we look forward to welcoming you to the TELUS Centre for Performance and Learning - the home of The Royal Conservatory's Oscar Peterson School of Music!

Smart Start Trial Classes

FREE trial classes for new families. RSVP required

Experience The Royal Conservatory’s unique, neuroscience-based music curriculum for early childhood, as delivered by The Oscar Peterson School of Music (OPSM). These trial classes are for new families and RSVPs are required to reserve a spot. Current OPSM families, including those already registered for 2026 Summer Smart Start classes, or families who have another child that participated in Smart Start, are not eligible for trial classes. 

Each session is limited to a maximum of 12 families, with one (1) caregiver per child permitted inside the classroom. Please note that no waitlist is available. Additional families will be admitted on June 7th pending available spots and on a first come, first served basis.
